The Cosmic Ellipse Revival is a New York/Philadelphia, intergenerational ensemble with its roots the loft scene of the 70s. For this concert they will be performing compositions by pianist  Joselo Locandro’s (recorded and toured with Denardo Coleman, David Murray, and Rene McLean), and some unrecorded compositions of Ornette Coleman who mentored Locandro, and  Philadelphia alto saxophonist Bobby Zankel who has  toured with Cecil Taylor and recorded with Odean Pope, Johnnie Coles, Dave Burrell, Marilyn Crispell, Ralph Peterson Jr. Graham Haynes is regarded as an innovator on cornet and trumpet and an extraordinary composer. He is well known for his work in world, electronic music, and conduction of large ensembles. Nazir Ebo is a young percussionist  from Philadelphia who has played with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, Tim Warfield, and Branford Marsalis (his brother Justin Faulkner’s regular gig). Bassist Richard Hill has performed with Jackie McLean. Frank Foster, David Murray, Jalil Shaw, Orrin Evans, and Bilal.

There is only one set 7:00pm – 8:00pm.
